BHP BILLITON
How the world’s largest resources company is making health, safety, environment and community a priority with First Priority Enterprise.
First Priority Enterprise had its origins in a collaborative partnership between RMT and BHP Billiton, the world’s largest resources company. Back in 1996, BHP Billiton needed a health, safety, environment and community risk management system for its Queensland Coal operations at Norwich Park, and the company chose RMT as a partner to develop it. The result was the highly successful First Priority Enterprise system, which has evolved into the world’s premier risk management system for a diverse range of businesses.
First Priority Enterprise has since been successfully rolled out to 59 BHP Billiton sites around the world spanning coal, iron ore, petroleum, base metals, stainless steel materials, mineral exploration, technology laboratories and administration offices. It’s currently used by 12,000 BHP Billiton employees and contractors for incident reporting, investigation and analysis, corrective action tracking, hazard reporting, document control, audit and inspection management, as well as for its original monthly reporting function.
First Priority Enterprise has been integrated with the company’s Global SAP system for personnel and maintenance data. Hosted from Melbourne, it offers global access to users on the company intranet as well as external access to contractors.
